NAVRS Board of Directors
The North American Virtual Recorder Society (NAVRS) is run by a Board of Directors and the Music Director, as specified by the NAVRS Bylaws. The Board has 3 voting officers (President, Treasurer, Secretary) who are elected by the membership. The President can also invite members to serve as non-voting Members-at-Large. The Music Director is appointed by the Board for a limited term. The current officers and Music Director are listed on the homepage.
Responsibilities of NAVRS Officers
President
The President sets the strategic direction of NAVRS and determines how to best use the chapter’s resources. The President creates a welcoming community within NAVRS and represents NAVRS to external organizations including the ARS. Duties include:
Communication and community

Welcome members at events

Plan and run the Annual Meeting

Write President’s message for monthly Newsletter

Handle administration and advertising of upcoming events

Organize breakout rooms
Strategic direction

Determine direction and priorities of NAVRS

Direct efforts of Board members to meet priorities

Recruit Board Members-at-Large

Run quarterly Board meetings

With the Treasurer, prepare an annual budget
Beyond NAVRS

Act as liaison to the American Recorder Society, including attending Chapter President meetings
Treasurer
The Treasurer manages all financial and accounting aspects of NAVRS. Duties include:

Maintain books of account

Manage all funds and securities of the Society

Handle disbursement of funds

Provide financial reports as requested by the Board

With the President, prepare an annual budget

Ensure that no expenditure exceeds the budget without prior approval of the Board
Secretary
The Secretary maintains NAVRS documentation and website content. Depending on skills and interest, the Secretary may also serve as the NAVRS Webmaster. Alternatively, the Webmaster duties may be handled by a non-voting Member-at-Large. Duties include:
