Breath is Life—Life is Music

It is a vast understatement to say that our breathing affects the way we sound.  When recorder players play vocal music the phrasing is built right in.  But what about instrumental music without breath marks?  Recorders players can use some contextual clues and basic performance practice knowledge to make better decisions about where to breathe.  When we breathe life into our music, the experience is so much more meaningful for the players and listener alike!
