January 10 Workshop: Mysterious Musicality
Description
You know it when you hear it: Musical playing! Musical playing is playing that has a sense of life and joy and shape, playing that’s never boring, playing that compels you to listen. But how on earth do you make it happen? Musicality is among the most nebulous musical skills, and that makes it tricky both to learn and to teach. In this workshop, we’ll break down some important components of musicality and discuss and model concrete strategies for improving yours.
