A Survey on Recorder Culture in the Late 18th and 19th Century by Nik Tarasov Before the official rediscovery of the instrument in the early 20th century, the recorder's characteristic tone was also present in the classical and romantic era. Expert Nik Tarasov introduces the instruments made during this period, describes their playing technique, discusses the public appearance of players and the relevant original music. The lecture will be rounded off by thoughts on the suitability of the recorder for the romantic repertoire today.
