Workshop with Debby Greenblatt

June 2 "Traditional Irish Tunes for Two Recorders"

Description

In this workshop, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite Irish tunes, scored for two recorders. You will get to experience the same fun that fiddlers and pennywhistle players and bagpipers have experienced for generations. Tapping your feet is mandatory and helps support the flow of the melodies. Many different kinds of tunes will be explored, such as jigs, waltzes, polkas, and hornpipes. Included will be some video clips of recorder players, and other instrumentalists (pennywhistles, bodhran, uilleann pipes, octave mandolin, fiddles, hammered dulcimer) playing and singing these captivating tunes. This is a NAVRS members only event. NOTE: All sessions begin at 7:00 PM, Eastern. The Zoom link will be live 15 minutes prior.
